Dear Friends,      Henry County Ordinance 3-(9-01) established the Henry County Cemetery Commission on September 19, 2001. The commission is responsible for cemeteries where: No funds or resources are available for reasonable maintenance A cemetery has suffered neglect and deterioration The cemetery may be the burial ground for Indiana pioneer leaders or Veterans of war The cemetery was established before 1900      Most cemeteries in Henry County fall within the criteria listed above. However, the Commission is not funded through taxes or levies. This year we began working on the Batson, Hubbel, Painter and Paul cemeteries. These restorations continue to be monuments to our volunteers and we will continue to rely on volunteers for the rejuvenation of the cemeteries falling under our jurisdiction.      Restoring and maintaining cemeteries requires a financial commitment, and county government cannot afford this burden. We are asking for your help in this most worthy cause. 100% of the money donated will go towards cemeteries. Our commission members are not compensated.      If you choose to make a donation, please download and fill out the donation form below and mail it to the Henry County Cemetery Commission. The donation is tax-deductible and you will receive an acknowledgment of your donation from the Foundation.      Please attend a Cemetery Commission meeting.
