Henry County Paupers' Asylum Admissions

1853-1854

The following list of names was discovered in an old ledger (most likely was the ledger of Jacob Ratdorph the superintendent at that time - 1853) found in the Henry County Historical Society's misc. books that were recovered from the old courthouse tower a few years ago by the former curator and donated to the museum by the circuit court judge.
This list contains the names of the patients that were in the home just prior to the fire of 1855 that destroyed most of the early asylum records.
This list doesn't give much information on the patients, but it does tell us who was there in 1852 and 1853 and early 1854.
