Protecting Henry County Indiana Cemeteries

On September 19, 2001, Henry County Indiana Ordinance 3-(9-01) established the Henry County Indiana Cemetery Commission. The Commission was founded to care for the neglected and under-funded pioneer cemeteries in Henry County Indiana. The Henry County Cemetery Commission consists of five citizens of Henry County. The term of office of the commission is five years. The commission commenced with staggered terms to permit the appointment or re-appointment of one commission member per year.
Funding for the Henry County Cemetery Commission is not available through the county. The commission relies on donations from the community and the spirit of the volunteers who have already been very gracious with their support and effort for the care of our pioneer cemeteries.
Since it's inception, the commission has been involved in many cemetery projects. These projects range from the cleaning of cemeteries to the re-dedication the Christopher Long Monument.
With the continued support from donations and volunteers, the Henry County Cemetery Commission will be involved in the care of the Henry County pioneer cemeteries for many years to come.
